I went to a coffee morning at Stevens school yesterday! It is the first time going into school since he started there at the beginning of the month. He has seemed to settle quite well - although this week he wants his old school - he was getting his old book bag and didnt want to go to the new one - so I was concerned that he wasnt settling! Hi Everyone - I just wanted to update you all on Stevens first day at his new school!!! Steven was full of smiles getting on the mini bus this morning - this in itself is a huge change as I have always transported Steven to school myself, but since his new school is much further, and I looked into it all and decided that the transport was better organised than where he was - so he is going on the mini bus!! Well at last - we have been waiting for the special educational needs panal to decide whether Steven should be moved to a school more suited to his needs - and we finally have the outcome that we wanted after MONTHS of waiting!!! Even though the head of his present school, the head of the school where he would be going, and us - his parents - felt that this would be the right move for Steven, we have had to wait while people who do not know this child at all, decide his future at little meetings… Continue

Steven has been quite obsessed with touching anything that touches him first !! I have been ignoring it - as I think its a security thing for him - to make things happen again and again makes him feel safe - like watching the same dvd over and over! I have noticed that he is increasingly becoming more reliant on doing this and wonder if ignoring this behaviour is the right thing to do?
