No darlin' yu are not the only one going through this..Michael used to amnd still does with eltdowns bite and pinch himself on the arms and face..I know it is heartr breaking to watch. Sometimes I just sit in time out with him, or jut have to physically restrain him..not so much the latter anymore cause' he s now bigger than me. The only ting I do that has ben sucessful sometimes is tryng to redirect him to something else..like look at this and do yu want to do this. It's so hard because it's like he can't control himself and when I bring it to his attenton he calms down ......I hope you have a good day, don't know if this helped. another thing I had to do was take things away from him that he enjoyed..ie video games for the period of time he would have spent in time out, if he refused t listen to me.h wold respond to the video game thing..Hugs

Hello all, i'm sorry I haven't been on in awhile, ever since pre-k ended, I have been so busy trying to prepare my son for his summer break before his school gets out. His meltdowns are starting to become an every evening routine with him after school. I don't know if it's because he's tired, aggitated at something going on, etc. But it's getting real worrysome. He's getting to wear he won't even listen to me when it's time to go to timeout and he's getting so big I can't budge him. I've got to think of another reward system for him any suggestions? The one I have now, he's already use to it and it don't even work anymore. And I know once he gets out of school it's going to be very challenging as always for all of us, so if anyone has any advice about disipline and timeing out, I would greatly appreciate it. He's also starting to scratch his face when he's melting down and keeps trying to hurt himself, and it's so sad watching this, when i take his little hands and hold them to his side it just makes it worse, and the only way he'll stop if I look at him and say that hurts mommy too, and if your going to hurt you and I then i'm leaving the room, then he'll stop and walk in his room and cry like a normal little cry from a 6 yr. old saying i'm sorry, i didn't do nothing. Plz someone help, am I the only one going through this?
