About Your Autistic Family Member:
Zack age 13&1/2, Zack was born in 1994, He was born almost three months early, He nearly didn't make it. after 12 weeks in a humidicrib He was allowed to be be held for the first time. when we got Him home, He developed in the usual ways, as a matter of fact, he walked very early and started to say words quite clearly by the age of twelve months.
Zack was due for His 18 month immunisation, and i took the day off work to take Him to the maternal health center, as his mother used to be a bit squeamish with needles and such, He cried a little when they stuck the needle in but not much, the lady assisting said He was very brave. When we got him home He had started to develop a fever, so we took Him to the hospital and He was admitted with high fever and beginning to dehydrate. after a couple of days He had settled and was allowed to come home.
Sometime during all of that, Zack lost something that He had before He went into hospital, His eyes seemed to be empty, and He stopped talking and just sat there, no more waddling around like He used to, just rocking and babbling some jargon.
After a couple of months, Zack's mother, thought that He might have been going deaf as He had stopped responding to his name and even loud sudden noises failed to make him even jump slightly, We took Him to doctors and specialists, and finally one doctor looked at Zack for about ten minutes, and then turned to us and said "your son has Autism".
Zack continues to grow and develop slowly but surely, and He is a constant source of joy and happiness to our whole family, We love Zack for the way He helps us appreciate the simple everyday things that are so easy to take for granted. to be continued...

Thing You Hate Most About Autism:
When Zack was born the figures world wide of autism birthrate were in the vicinity of one in nine or ten thousand, (approx) now parents have a one in one hundred and fifty chance of giving birth to a child with autism, and i believe one in sixty five boys are born with it. This is what i hate most about autism.
