About Me:

I'm a full-time social worker in SE Michigan. I also do a lot of volunteer work and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

About Your Autistic Family Member:

Drew is 6 years old now... He was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism when he was about 3. He is doing wonderfully in school and is well ahead of where he needs to be academically, but still struggles with social interactions a good portion of the time. His smile will melt your heart!

Favorite Thing To Do With Your Autistic Family Member:

Drew loves to read and be outside. We also spend a lot of time at the beach or in the pool when the crazy Michigan weather allows:)

Thing You Hate Most About Autism:

That it's affects frustrate my child... Other than that I am grateful as odd is it might sound to have had Autism touch my life. I wouldn't change a thing about my son--he is perfect in every way. I'm glad I have the tools to help him succeed and a great support system with many wonderful friends. Hopefully I'll make a few more here!
