- Married 37 years to my high school sweetheart Debbie. Played in a rock and roll band for 25 years. Hoping for a cure or something to change the rate at which Autism is growing. I want my grandaughter to have better odds than 1 in 150 of having a child with Autism.
- About Your Autistic Family Member:
- My grandson AJ who is 15 years old now. He has sever Autism and only says one word "Bye" if you prod him long enough. He is doing some signing with his hands.

- Favorite Thing To Do With Your Autistic Family Member:
- I like to play music and sing to him, this makes him smile and he seems so interested while I do this. I am a strong advocate of music theropy as I can see how it calms them down. He has even played on the drums when I play piano.

- Thing You Hate Most About Autism:
- The rate at which it is growing. When AJ was born the odds were 1 in 10,000. Now they are 1 in 150. What will they be in five more years??????
We need to raise the awareness in order to raise the priorty of the reasearch on it.

My opinion of the autistic mind
they have figured out the pattern, there is no further interest in that subject matter, They don't know how to
communicate with us, or do they necessarily feel a need to. The "high functioning" autistic persons are usually of
above average intelligence. Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford....just to name a few.

- Well hello back at you my friend!! How have you and family been doing??..Michael is doing great, he will go into his senior year fo high school next year, can stay in school until he is 21, just do not know if I want to leave him in school for that long..I am currently looking for a transition program for him for after graduation, and have to get the ball rolling for him to collect his SSI once he turns 18(in June). Now that he has become a young man..there is a whole new set of issues..but WE WILL SURVIVE AND I AM TOO DETERMINED TO BE DEFEATED!!...((((((((HUGS)))))))
