Married with 5 grown children, and 8 grandkids. 1 grandaughter has Autism, high functioning. I love to sew, crochet etc.

About Your Autistic Family Member:

She is 6 yrs old and in first grade. Has been verbal for about 3 years.

Favorite Thing To Do With Your Autistic Family Member:

TALK!!!! I wasnt sure she would be able to carry on a conversation. I love to talk to her! Show her new things, and help her underststand common conversation.

Thing You Hate Most About Autism:

People dont understand Autism, and are not patient!

She knows several words but is just now trying short sentences like..Go home w/Grandma..that was actually the first sentence I've ever heard from her & it happened a couple of weeks ago. I'm just wondering..is your granddaughter on the GF/CF diet? I keep trying to get my daughter to try it.

Joseph is prone to violent tantrums started as he got to 13 now they have to take him off the meds so the past week has been hard as they would at least help him sleep.another week and he,ll be right off them....anyway here in the uk its blowing a gale and cold and wet typical british weather..have a nice weekend.
