- i am happily married, and have 4 beautiful kids. jordan 8, zachary 5, alexis 3, and austin 9 months.
- About Your Autistic Family Member:
- zachary is my child who is on the spectrum, he has pdd-nos. and although days can be extremly tiring and hair pulling..lol we would not change zachary for anything. he has taught us so much!!! he is a blessing to have. he has been in headstart for 2 years now, and is moving on to kindergarten next year, and is very excited to be going to his big brothers school..its all he has been talking about!! we are also excited because that means FULLTIME. HAHAHA anyways, zachary has come such a long long way since starting haedstart. when he started he wasnt really talking at all and his eye contact was barely, but now he dosnt stop talking and he can make eye contact, even if it is just for a second. zachary also has something going on that the doctors are baffeled on. he can be ok one second and then on the floor extremly sick!! they describe it as like he has a broken car radiator. hid body dosnt tell him to cool down so he ends up over heating which causes him to get a very high temp, lethargic, and throws up. it last about 2 hrs everytime it happends then hes up and running around as if nothing happend. hes been threw so much testing which never shows anything. they just cant figure it out. and it is so heart breaking to watch, he goes threw stages so we always know when an episode is coming on. if anyone elses child goes threw something similar..can you please let me know. and tell me if they know what it is. thanxs a bunch!!!
- Favorite Thing To Do With Your Autistic Family Member:
- zachary loves going to the park, and also riding his scooter, and riding his cool car..that even has a radio in it. lol
- Thing You Hate Most About Autism:
- the communication, and meltdowns. yes it is hard to deal with but the hardest thing about those two things is watching our child go threw it and not knowing his exact need and seeing his frustration because he just cant get out what he wants or needs.
