Bianca McCarver A look at some of our experiences with the GFCF diet

Here is an email that I sent to a woman (this was back in October) who was very frustrated with the GFCF diet and her daughter. She was ready to give up on the diet.... "Don't quit. She's dazed, sick, and tired because she's in withdrawal. The gluten and casein protiens act like opioids in the body...opiates, morphine. Our kids are picky eaters because they know what gets them high and that's all they want to eat. My kids used to live on milk and goldfish crackers. Now they are gfcf and I knContinue

Bianca McCarver XanGo and our two autistic children

Some issues I have seen with our two autistic children: Yeast - we had already taken care of this problem with my daughter, but my son was having the same problem. We were in the process of giving him very strong doses of a prescription antifungal called Nystatin when we were introduced to XanGo. We started giving him the juice and we saw an immediate change in his bowel movements, which we had not seen with just the prescription. When you have yeast die off there will be a change… Continue

Adonya Wong Traveling Down the Road to Autism Recovery

I know it isn't my fault. I didn't cause my son's autism, but that doesn't stop me from, occasionally, feeling a bit guilty. In order to heal myself on this road to recovery and since I'm more prone to be online than not, I decided to start journaling. I've bypassed the paper journal and pen, and opted for the instant gratifying online version better known as blogging. We are all united through autism. Sharing our pain as well as our jo… Continue

Krista new medication

The appointment yesterday went very well. We discussed lots of options and I hope we came up with the best solution for John for the time being. The doctor seems to think that John is suffering from a for now single episode of major depressive disorder due to such intense sensory issues. He believes that this causes him to draw inward and can be causing the visual/auditory hallucinations. He tells me that psychosis in a child his age is so rare that he doesnt think thats what we have going on. W… Continue

CamJam Cameron, Curious George, and Autism

One of our twin boys, Cameron, (diagnosed with Autism), LOVES Curious George. Cameron in a way, is much like the cartoon character from "Curious George" Cameron has the same fun, loving, innocent curiosity just like George... The way Cameron discovers the world around him, how he responds and at times, in HIS way shares it with me, is much like this music video. This song, the LYRICS, and the video (see below) remind me of my dear son Cameron. Cameron loves this song & the videos too! (and… Continue

Samantha E's Mum Snowballling

Sometimes the smallest thing can have the most unexpected reaction. I have been on the net a long time... and in all that time I've plodded along doing what i do and managed pretty much to stay in the background. I agreed eventually after Ray our eldest nagged us to let Sam get a bebo page... then i let her get her own domain because of the newspaper story that was printed up about her. Samantha FindsContinue
